Vermona Extended Double Bass Harmonica (like Hohner)
This harmonica is no longer for sale (sold on 2011-05-25)
Price : US $209.00
USED, but very good Condition. Has the appearance that it was not played very much. All notes play, and this bass is playable right out of the box. I would estimate that this bass comes from the post Warsaw Pact era of the 1950s or 1960s. I believe that the descendant purchased this harmonica on one of his many trips to Poland. Previous owner was a non-smoker, maintained a non-smoking home, and stored instrument in dry even temperature environment.
The wood comb has been painted red. Reed's rivet heads have also been painted red. Red paint is on other parts as well, such as the edges of the reed plates, and inside the mouthpieces. Please see photos for this. This paint is insignificant to the sound and do not, in any way, affect the sound or playability of this instrument.
A point of significance is that this bass is CONSIDERABLY lighter in weight than the equivalent instrument by other manufacturers such as Hohner or SUZUKI. This weight difference could be from a different kind of wood used to manufacture the comb, or a different specification for the reed plates. No statement of fact is made regarding the comb nor reed plates.
