Hohner Chromonica 270/48 with case sounding
This harmonica is no longer for sale (sold on 2011-05-09)
Price : US $48.60
Up for bidding is a used, vintage Hohner Chromatic Harmonica in the tune of G. I am unsure of the exact age but it was my grandfathers and know that it was purchased before the 1980's, and e-bay classified that as Vintage. It is used and could use a good cleaning but all the reeds are in great shape and it sounds good. I just have never learned to play it, and would rather a skilled musician have this beautiful piece.
From my research, this is a Chromonica 270/48. It is Made in Germany and comes with a green hard plastic case with a red felt lining and HOHNER stamped in gold lettering.
The harmonica itself has a pearwood comb and engraved metal. The top side is very elaborate and says Super CHROMONICA M. Hohnery Chromatic Harmonica and is numbers 1 through 12. A ''G'' is also stamped on the joining piece near the slide. On the reverse, the same pattern of ivy is on the back with the Trade Mark of two hands grasping a coin that reads ''GESETZL GESCH'' M. HOHNER is below that and it reads ''MADE BY GERMANY''
These retail new for around $150 dollars. I'm not sure if the used/vintage adds or subtracts to the value and I feel that I know too little about it to set a price, so I will start the auction at $40 and hope it goes from there. It is a beautiful piece but it sits around on the shelf and every few months I tell myself I'll learn to play eventually....time to give up on those dreams
Again, this harmonica is old and can use a cleaning...but I am not doing this for f
