Up for auction a 1966 Fender Champ blackface amp, chassis # A- 06127. The cabinet is not the original to the amp, I got it off eBay. I also had a tailed logo but some stupid kids broke into
my house and stole the logo, left the amp. Like I said, stupid kids. I had a harp mod done, changed a 10K resistor to a 15K to drop the voltage on plate of preamp tube. The mod and all the rest of the service was done by an amp tech I know. The work is detailed in the drawing and you can see the parts replaced and old one in the bag.
This cab is not the best, but not really bad, needs some tolex re glued at bottom, and I don't have the two amp straps to go under the anchoring bolts on top. The only thing you need is the little cord from the amp to the speaker. This amp as I say was modded for harp, and is as good likely better for harp than any other comparable champ you have heard. By that I mean one from the same period. I got laid off, and I'm selling my extra crap off. I also have a custom made harp rig with 4X8 alnicos I will be posting next week. Might sell some mics too. Oh yeah, the jewel is also MIA. This looks bad, sounds great, has been a bar back up amp, and when I got a bigger one I put it in the closet. The mods and all the other service was done in April of last year. I'm only placing a reserve of $75 bucks on this, and as you can see, the service I had done on it last year was $117.45. Yes, it needs a new faceplate, or a repaint. The blackface champ faceplates are very hard to find.
