We have acquired a vintage FR. HOTZ The Song Bird Harmonica for auction. We know nothing about harmonicas, so I will describe it as I see it. It comes in it's original box which is in good solid condition. On the inside of the box it says, FR. HOTZ Established 1828 Oldest Harmonica Factory Germany, Sole Maker of the genuine Hotz Harmonicas, of world wide fame. Made by experienced musical instrument makers. Inventor of the concert harp 100 years experience.
The harmonica itself looks to be pretty good for it's age. There is some discoloration on the silver part, which may be from rust but there are no holes. I have tried to show in in pictures. The side with the bird says on it, The Song Bird Made by Fr. Hotz Germany. It has the numbers 1 thru 10 below the writing. The letter C is on the right side on the metal. The opposite side has Made In Germany ANVRS 1894 in 2 circles. FR. HOLZ in the center and to the right of that Paris 1900 in 2 circles. A great old piece for a collection. Thanks for looking.
