Harmonica / Saka Phone / Japanese / Steel / Vintage
This harmonica is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-07-30)
Price : US $30.99
This Japanese harmonica probably dates to the 1950s or 1960s, and was most likely used in a school, since etched into the steel case is an indication that it has been approved by the Japanese Ministry of Education. Also etched into the case is the brand, 'Saka Phone'. The steel case is sheathed in a blue plastic coating, and wraps around internal works made of what appear to be bakelite and bronze.
There is no damage that we can detect, aside from a little wear-and-tear and the need for a good cleaning. All the notes play clearly, although we are not musicians and so cannot say much about quality.
Measures W5 11/16' (145mm) X H1 3/16' (30.5mm) at the back X D1 3/4' (44mm).
